Neutrals on Neutrals on Neutrals

Truth: I actually wore this yesterday, and what I posted yesterday I wore the day before. Today I wore my pj's, but with a blazer of course, no matter what I am always office appropriate. Always.

Rule Breaker

I have decided to start a new blogging game. Rules of the game are as follows: 1. I will pick one item of clothing a week and style it differently each day. 2. I will change more than just one thing about the ensemble (don't worry I'm not trying to pull a fast one on you by only switching up my pants, I know your too clever to fall for those shenanigans). 3. I will repeat this cycle until A. I get bored with it. B. you get bored with it and beg me (nicely) to stop. C. I forget about this game and go back to regular outfit posts! Deal? deal.

I have been craving neutrals lately. Black, white, tan, grey if it's slightly drab than cover me in it and send me on my way. The thing about neutrals though, is that they can be quite boring on their own but when you put them all together they can really make a look. Kind of like the old saying the sum is greater than the parts, too early for philosophy? Never, when discussing fashion I say.

Fall Textures!

Skirt: Loft: July 2015, not online, similar here, Top: Target, June 2014 not online, similar here
Shoes: Boutique summer 2012, similar here here

Mixing textures is one of my favorite ways to transition into fall. Tweed being number one on my list (quilted python being second, duh.). I picked up this skirt from Loft to transition into fall with simply because of the texture and my love for pencil skirts, plus using textures is an easy way to cheat your way to fall, the shortest season of the year with the best clothing options. It's why I drag it out for as long as I can.

Mixed Prints Yet Again

I could have sworn today was Friday. Isn't that the worst? When you think it's later in the week than it actually is? Even my husband asked me this morning what today was (we like to quiz each other on simple things early in the day to judge the severity of the morning haze) and after a long pause, I had to look at a calendar to confirm it was in fact Thursday and not Friday. At least it's not Monday, eh?

I'm kind of stuck in the weird transition of seasons. I am so ready for fall weather  as well as pulling out my fall clothes. But then again, I can't let go of wearing white, pastels and dresses without leggings! Am I the only person looking forward to fall styles? I think it started when I was a little girl -- the lure of back to school shopping was the only thing that justified going back to school for me. I planned out my first day of school outfit for weeks.

Peplum and Flowers

Top: Francescas, June 2013, Black Jeans: Old Navy: Fall 2013, Necklace: local boutique, May 2013, Shoes: Target, July 2015, Clutch: Double C Stitchery, July 2014

I'm always a fan of peplum tops / ruffle tops / whatever the cool kids are calling them these days. I like this one from Francescas because of its structure and zipper up the back. I love a zipper up the back on a top. It makes me feel very sophisticated and gives me another exit strategy which I always appreciate.

You can just see a sliver of the zipper here , but it is definitely there, quietly waiting to be noticed.

OOTD: mommy uniform neutrals on neutrals

This outfit has been my uniform as of late. Being a new mama I have found lately I'm generally trying to keep sane with everything going on that I've gravitated towards easy pieces I can just throw on and still look pulled together. Pro tip: white hides spit- up like a dream. Additionally, the larger the sweater the more spit-up you can hide. I look calm, cool and collected, don't I? Courtesy of oversized sweater and colors that blend well with spit-up. You'd never know that behind that sweater there are more stained spots than not. So for days like these it's good to have a uniform with minimal thought and effort. What's your uniform lately?

OOTD: TGIF

Hey Guys!
This week has been a long one for this mama, my little 3 month old is experiencing some sleep regression so this mama has been getting up multiple times a night and the fatigue is definitely setting in. Yesterday I was making lasanga for super and after we had eaten I went to put everything away and a little while later my husband wandered into the kitchen and found that I had put the leftovers in the cubbord instead of the fridge and then I proceeded to laugh at that for a good 15 minutes past what it may have warrented. The struggle and exhaustion is real.

OOTD: mixing patterns

Hey friends!
Welcome (back to some of you) to my little piece of the blogosphere. It has been raining in my neck of the woods for a few days now so I thought I would give you a little weekend wear post today. I wore this outfit out on a hot date with my two fellas (don't worry one's my 3 month old son!). It was great and little man did so well at the resturant he was either sleeping or super happy and smily stealing the show. He gets the biggest grin on his face when people talk to him its just the best sight in the world I'll post some pics of it tomorrow. In the meantime, I'll let you get to the outfit pictures, thanks for stopping by and come back soon!

Have a great rest of your Tuesday!
