Late, Later, and Latest

Hey guys!
First off sorry for my absence last week! I promised you last week that I would do a separate post on that necklace and what baby wants baby gets, albeit a week later but better late than never right? no, ok..

So that necklace is from a wonderful company called Noonday there purpose is here, but basically they work with women in developing countries and help them become entrepreneurs by selling their jewelry on this site. Their goal is to help women and families around the globe create a sustainable income and flourish in their communities. And as a social worker and a fellow human I cannot tell you how much this initiative speaks to my heart, and I'm sure most of yours as well.

So I wanted to give you guys some screenshots of some of my favorite pieces in case you have some more Christmas shopping to do, or if you are just in the mood to buy some beautiful pieces for a good cause.

This is a christmas gift for myself! Don't tell santa.

All of these can be found on the Noonday site here and there is so so so many more beautiful pieces! Happy shopping!!

90's grunge

I have a confession, in regards to this beautiful free people sweater, my mom bought it for me. Yes I am 27 gainfully employed with a child and a husband and I still let people buy me clothes. It's sort of like my super power. I have this unbelievable ability to let people buy my clothes. So if your the kind of person who likes to take people to the mall and buy them clothes well then I'm your gal. I am very adept at letting people buy me stuff. Heck, I even help them pick out the clothes for me. Must be the social worker in me always wanting to help someone out.

I gotta say, guys, this 90's grunge look is perfect for anyone like me. I get to be stylish  in these baggy clothes, which is perfect timing on this trend since I  had a baby 6 months ago and baggy or flowy clothing is my best friend, and I don't have time to wash my hair or even brush it most of the time. Dont judge you do it too, nasty.

Outfit details along with the story of the necklace from yesterday's post are coming up tomorrow! Stay tuned.

Necklace for a Cause

This necklace was a Christmas gift from my best friend forever. That's right at 27 I'm still using the term BFF, so sue me :). But really that is the only way I can describe her. We have been friends since 6th grade (not BFF's until 7th she'll tell anyone who will listen why) and she is one of those magical people in my life who just gets me, and requires nothing of me in return except to be myself.

When she asks my opinion on something she genuinely wants to hear what I have to say not the polite answer you tell everyone else. There is something so freeing about finding the friend that you are so comfortable with you could cry, laugh and fart around (not that I do, but if I did) all in the same moment. And she has been that for me for a very long time. So this post goes out to her and this beautiful necklace that she gave me a year ago which has a story of its own. Check back tomorrow to find out it's story.

Had to share this from last night, is there anything else better than having your cuddly baby sleep on you? I think not.

Sporty Spice

This outfit is definitely a risk for me. Preppy is my usual style, and this outfit is way more sporty spice than I typically go for. And no your eyes are not fooling you those are actually airforce one nikes on my feet. When I told my husband I had thrifted these his first reaction was disbelief after that he was just confused. Why would someone who never wears sneakers buy shoes that are so obviously sneakers? I told him not to worry his pretty little head I had a few outfit ideas on the brain game.
I think it's good though, taking risks in style, life, or just in general. It felt nice to step out of the ordinary today and embrace my inner sporty spice and I think she liked it too, who knows I may even go for a walk outside tonight, but then again lets not get ahead of ourselves one step outside the box at a time. Keep them guessing, that's what I always say.

Mall Walkers

I wore this outfit on Friday night on a date. To the mall. With all of the other 14 year olds who have nowhere else to go with their love interests. I'm pretty sure we are running out of date ideas when we end up at the mall. If this is 4 1/2 years in, what will we be like in 10 years, when all of a sudden all I want for my anniversary is a new dishwasher, and a hug. And maybe a candle, if that's not asking too much.

I feel very hippie chic in this today. It must be the FP sweater craze I have been going through. My husband does not appreciate this craze, or any craze for that matter, Parker on the other hand gave this sweater two thumbs way up. With so many things to pull on with this sweater, I think he would be happy if I wore this sweater everyday for the rest of his life or at least until he turns 12 or 13.

I have been loving all things bohemian and flowy or boxy, which isn't really my style at all normally, but lately I've been drawn to the boho style and the Olsen Twins.

Weekend Plans

It's been a busy week and I am so happy its friday eve! And a weekend with no plans, at 20 this is sad news, at 27 this is the best news ever. It just means you dont have to cancel on anyone because you have to stare at your baby all day, catch up on Scandal, and eat pizza and drink wine like its your job.
Don't judge you do it too.

For the Love of Neutrals

So did you all enjoy that extra hour of sleep this weekend? I have to say for the first time since I can remember I did not. Why? well glad you asked, because unfortunately my 6 month old can't tell time and so instead of waking up at 7 per usual, he has been insisting upon starting his day at 6 am, and this mama is T-I-R-E-D. It seems like an easy fix right, just keep him up an hour later, well you see this little guy is so scheduled that no amount of coaxing can keep him up past his self-imposed bed time. So I have set smaller goals for us, each night I will keep him up at least 5-10 minutes later, until he adjusts to the new schedule. Wish me luck, guys!
