#Parkerbear

Today's post brought to you by Parker.

Mom got this great idea to wrap me in lights which sounded fun until they wouldn't let me put them in my mouth.. This was taken just seconds before I started to cry from being told no the 48th time. I mean really how mean is it to give me a toy and not let me put it in my mouth. These people sometimes..

This is one of the first times I really mastered sitting up by myself.

Then they decided I didn't need that stupid little bath tub anymore, so into the big tub I went, and did you know when you get to go to the big tub they give you way more toys! Highly recommend it! Mom decided to put the laundry basket in the tub which I thought was strange, but I heard her tell dad it would stop me from falling over she found this idea on pinterest, she talks about pinterest a lot..

They let me do some crafts sometimes, here I am working on my first masterpiece I call it "Don't eat that!" I'll explain later what the name means.

I'm not sure why they took this picture I think mom said something about liking my outfit and it was a gift... So thanks Brittany for the shirt my mom really likes it

Dad and I having a serious conversation about pushing my bed time back to 8 o'clock. Don't worry I convinced him.

Here's dad and I bright and early one morning. I really like the mornings dad isn't too sure about them sometimes..

These guys are always trying to get me to take a nap. I fight it most of the time but sometimes I give in.

Mom's probably the best at getting me to sleep. She is real sneaky she'll sing to me and she has such a bad singing voice I would rather sleep than listen to her.

See what I mean sneaky..

Dad and I spend a lot of time watching our favorite team the hawkeyes, and I haven't gotten it all figured out yet. But I think we like them and I think they did good this year as dad has been really really happy every Saturday

Thanks for reading guys! Tomorrow my mom will be back at posting so stop by and say hi to her!

Faux Weather Friend

Besides a faux leather jacket in the spring and fall, I'm not much of a faux leather fan. A fair weather faux leather wearer, you could say. (There are more bad jokes where that came from.) But this winter, this outfit with this quilted faux leather jacket has been my cool mom uniform.  Just ask Parker he thinks I’m the bomb dot com when I wear this (or any) outfit. NowI know this won’t last forever and all too soon he will think I am the most embarrassing person on the planet, but in the meantime I’m going to savor these moments where I can do no wrong in his sight, and I’m going to wear the heck out of this comfy cool outfit and sip my lattes in the mall with my sleeping baby and all the other cool mamas.

How to wear Makeup Geek foiled Shadows

Hey Guys!
So this is lazy girl's guide to blogging this week. Next week I promise **in Oprah's voice** you get an outfit post, you get an outfit post, and you get an outfit post! BUT, in the meantime here is a breakdown of this make up look I wore a few weeks back.

For face make up I used the exact same products I talked about in this post.

For eyes the first color I used was this makeup geek matte eye shadow in Peach Smoothie. This is a must have for me. I use this color everyday because it is the perfect transition color for the crease. That is exactly where I used this color in this look. I swept this all over my crease from outer corner to inner corner. In a windshield wiper motion, while singing blend baby blend I'll teach this to you someday.

The next eye shadow I used was another Makeup Geek matte shade, Creme Brulee. This is a shade darker than Peach Smoothie, and is another one of my all-time favorites! I used this shade a little lower down in the crease to darken it up and really add some demention to the crease and outer V portion of my eye. Again I used those windshiled wiper motions and blended until my arm could blend no more! I also used this shade to blend with after I applied my all over the lid color. It does wonders at making sure there are no no no no harsh lines.

I also used Creme brulee in my lower lash line to smoke out that lower lash area to make my eyes look bigger and to help balance out the color on my upper lid. I didn't use any eye liner on my lower lash line, and 90 percent of the time I don't put eyeliner there anymore. I leave it blank because I find that  it makes my eyes look bigger and gives that really pretty doe eyed look.

And lastly for the eyes, I used this really pretty plum colored foiled eyeshadow all over my lid. My favorite way to apply these foiled shadows are with my fingers. I typically use my middle finger (in the nicest way possible) to apply them and I find that this does a way better job than any brush I have tried. My finger is able to really pack on the color and I have great control since it is my finger and I am the boss of him :).

The lip color I wore for this look is Maybelline's Divine Wine matte shade. I love this color for fall and winter looks. Its a darker shade but not too dark, in my opinion, to pull off as an everyday look! This formula is super matte but I dont find these lipsticks to be drying or uncomfortable. They are my favorite lipsticks, hands down, from the drugstore.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to see a more in depth tutorial on this look or any other look!
Thanks for following guys!

Hey guys!
Today I thought I would do a post on the products I used and how I used them for this makeup look from the OOTD I posted a couple of weeks ago. This was one of my most viewed posts, and I got some emails on how I did my make up for this look so hope this helps! All of the products I mention here are favorites of mine that I have loved for months if not years and would highly reccommend!

First off, for Foundation I used my tried and true Cover Girl Outlast 3-1 foundation on this look. These pictures were taken after about 12 hours of wear, so as you can see this stuff lasts all dang day! I apply this foundation with this brush in circular motions, starting with the center of my face and working outwards from there.

For setting powder I used this young blood hi-definition powder which I was introduced to on my wedding day and have loved ever since. Its pricey but it lasts forever I am still using my first pan of this and I bought it 4 years ago, don't worry the guidelines says it can lasts 5-8 years!

I used this pressed facial powder to contour with. Honestly this is my favorite contour/bronsing powder. Since it is technically a pressed powder it is super blendable and looks seemless on top of your foundation. I think it works wayyyy beter than any of the higher end bronzers I have tried .

For blush on this look I used the second and third from the left of this tarte amazonian clay blush pallet. And I again I put this make up on about 12 hours before this photo was taken and I didn't have to touch up with blush!

For Eyes I used this meet matte nude pallet from the balm. I used Matt Singh in the crease as a transition color, with Matt Rosen a litt lower down in the crease and Matt Rosen and Matt Garcia all over the lid packed on with my favorite eye shadow brush my finger! Matt Malloy is who I put in the inner corner of my eyes and as a highlight, and on the lower lashes I have matt rosen smoked out.

For my lipstick I used Maybelline matte lipstick in Touch of spice with Jordana twany lip liner!

Let me know if you guys want to see a post on my favorite must have make up brushes!

Thanks for stopping by ya'all!

TGIT OOTD

I found this skirt the other day tucked away in some of my warmer things as I was pulling some things for winter outfits. Every once in a while, I'll forget about a piece that I own and then I rediscover it in my closet again and wear it more than before. This doesn’t surprise me. What does surprise me is, I can't for the life of me remember when or how I bought this skirt. And I remember everything when it comes to clothes. Some people call it obsessive; I call it my super power. Saving the world one outfit memory at a time? No? The only thing I know about this skirt is that it is from target and it is in my size. But to be honest at this point I'm not even sure it is mine.

Is anyone missing a cute skirt? Have you come in contact with me in the last 12 months? Did you leave your bag unattended at an airport or at a recent sleepover with me? You have 24 hours to claim it or it is mine.

Sweater: Free People via Poshmark, November 2015, Shirt: Charlotte Russe, July 2015, Skirt: Target, who knows when?, Leggings: Forever 21, September 2015, Necklace: Jcrew outlet, July 2013, Booties: Old navy, Winter 2012

Thanks for stopping ya'all!

November Favorites

Hey Guys!
And we’re back and today I have my November favorites for you. This is exciting for a couple of reasons; 1. its favorite’s time which is my favorite posts of the month both to read and to write 2. That means DECEMBER is here. Let me tell you a little known fact about myself, I don’t like the holidays. I stinking love them! I mean were talking put the Christmas tree up well before thanksgiving is over , Christmas music 24/7, candle burning, Hallmark Christmas movie watching , ABC family 25 days of Christmas enthusiast kind of girl! You name it I love it in regards to Christmas.  And this year is just amplified for me because of Parker bear, and his first Christmas! So I just love the fact that December is finally here!

Any who onto the favorites.
First up is a cult favorite the Kat Von D liquid lipstick in Lolita. This little friend is amazing it dries to a matte finish that is comfortable on the lips and lasts all stinking day. She is a little pricey put I feel like it’s money well spent because you can just put her on and go about your day and not have to worry about her smudging or fading. I wear a little lip liner underneath with her but you definitely don’t have to!

Next up is a tired girl’s best friend this holiday season, you know when you were up to late with one too many eggnogs, wrapping Christmas gifts, and watching cheesy holiday movies kind of night. This little product will be your best friend. It covers dark circles like a dream and it doesn’t crease or make that area look too cakey or dry like other concealers can. This has been a tried and true product in my make-up bag for years and I have tried the more expensive versions but I always come back to this old friend.

This lipstick is called 1995 and it is seriously one of my favorite lipsticks that I own. It was developed by a beautyblogger and I love supporting them! It is pigmented but not overly so. It is matte but not drying it’s neutral and can go with pretty much any eye look I rock it day and night and it’s one that is always in my purse so I have it on hand whenever I want to throw it on and go.

Last makeup product this month is this Tarte blush pallet. When I went home for thanksgiving this is the only pallet that I brought with me and if you know me, that is saying something because I love my blushes and I love my options but I felt like I had everything that I needed with this pallet which is super convient for traveling just throw this pallet in your bag and know you are taken care of for the trip!

I wanted to throw in a few baby favorites this month. First off this jump and play bouncer is from target, and Parker has been playing in this nonstop since he could sit up, but this month he has really figured out how to bounce and he just loves it! And I love that he is entertained and having fun and it gives me a few minutes to make super, throw a load of laundry in or just go to the bathroom in peace (and we all know how valuable that is!)

Lastly are these Zutano booties. These were first given to us as a gift and the mama who gave them to me said their great baby won’t be able to kick them off and not only was that true but they are super cute and look like little booties on so I have pretty much bought or wanted to buy them in every color. I get them on Amazon.

90's grunge

I have a confession, in regards to this beautiful free people sweater, my mom bought it for me. Yes I am 27 gainfully employed with a child and a husband and I still let people buy me clothes. It's sort of like my super power. I have this unbelievable ability to let people buy my clothes. So if your the kind of person who likes to take people to the mall and buy them clothes well then I'm your gal. I am very adept at letting people buy me stuff. Heck, I even help them pick out the clothes for me. Must be the social worker in me always wanting to help someone out.

I gotta say, guys, this 90's grunge look is perfect for anyone like me. I get to be stylish  in these baggy clothes, which is perfect timing on this trend since I  had a baby 6 months ago and baggy or flowy clothing is my best friend, and I don't have time to wash my hair or even brush it most of the time. Dont judge you do it too, nasty.

Outfit details along with the story of the necklace from yesterday's post are coming up tomorrow! Stay tuned.
